The GT Prem convertible I want is 63k (fully loaded) but at least I can see it and sit in it before I buy it. I would order a Dark Horse but the issue I have is its going to list for 10k over MSRP. For that I need to test drive and be sure.
There is that! The sales associate even tried to "console me" by saying that other dealers are marking them up even higher and the car will likely increase in value. That said, the main problem I had with it is that this particular dealer proudly advertises "Haggle free pricing" and "No Dealer Fees!"Maybe less people will buy it thus driving the long term value up.
My dealer is also MSRP, we signed the buyer's agreement at the quoted online build price, plus associated titling and taxes. My dealer is MSRP. Signed buyers agreement at that. No reason to pay $10k more if you can just go somewhere that doesn't do that. Until people start refusing, that practice will continue.
The key word in that statement is "If", there are only 2 dealerships within a 50 mile radius and the reason I originally chose this one is the advertised "Haggle free pricing" and "No Dealer Fees!" The other one I know is worse. My dealer is MSRP. Signed buyers agreement at that. No reason to pay $10k more if you can just go somewhere that doesn't do that. Until people start refusing, that practice will continue.
That was a smart idea reaching out to them and seeing if it could be done. Especially for a Dark Horse order!Ordered on Monday. No markup. Local Ford Dealer sells 90% trucks (Texas) and didn't know they could order 2024 Mustangs yet (they really don't care about cars).
Followed-up and yes, it is indeed on order with Ford.

Congratulations on ordering your Dark Horse @Underway and welcome to the forum! What do you like more about the Dark Horse compared to the GT?Ordered Dark Horse Premium on 3/27 in Blue Ember with performance pack, handling pack and appearance package. Received confirmation same day from Ford. And now we wait.
