Today I read that Ford did a redesign of the Coyote engine for the F150 and a couple of other models. Nothing was mentioned about the Mustang however, so I'm wondering what’s to come for the next Mustang GT.
This redesign includes (most notably) an external belt to drive the oil pump. That’s a big change, and somewhat of a concern. Also included is cylinder deactivation for increased economy. I really hope the belt-drive doesn’t come to the Mustang. That just feels like a step backwards.
Thoughts?
