Production Delay Updates

I have read a couple articles saying that production for the mustang is halted until September. Does anyone know any information that would either prove or disprove this? I was hoping to take delivery of my mustang by September/October but this seems unlikely now...

@rohanjohn0010 that September 2023 date came from RacerX:
"At 2 minutes and 43 seconds of the featured clip, RacerX claims that sources close to Ford have informed him of a production delay to September 2023. We've mailed the Blue Oval in regard to whether this information is true or not, and we'll update our story the moment we get an official reply."
So there is hope that production isn’t delayed until then?

Welcome to the forum @rohanjohn0010! There really hasn't been any updates yet since the news about the quality review happening at the plant which is annoying.

Which Mustang model are you looking to get?

Looking at an ecoboost premium and just the standard GT, both with the nite pony package.

Fantastic news @Dave P! Congrats and welcome to the forum! How did you spec your Ecoboost?
Kept it simple & under $50K. Just Equip. Group 101A in rapid red. Skipped the GT this time. This one has about the same hp is my current 2010 GT.

Good choice with the rapid red. You can have a lot of fun with the EcoBoost, it's a great engine and one that can be easily modified.

That's close to how I've been thinking about spec'ing mine, except I'll go hard top. Great choice!
I work in Production Control for a boat manufacturer and know a thing or two about retail ordering and production scheduling.

Right now we are getting ready to start our production of 2024 models. Our schedule is already filled out to December production, with a 30 day build time from build start to shipping and up to another week for delivery to the dealer.

Though we do treat retail orders differently than Ford. We prioritize retail over dealer stock.

Even if a boat is ordered today, the first available production slot is in January.

Knowing this, I had no illusions about getting my car before the end of the year, even though I ordered it on the first day the order Banks opened on 27MAR23.

That being said, it is still very frustrating to be sitting here waiting on news about my order and even moreso to hear that Ford is pushing their confirmed premium Dark Horse retail orders to the end of the line. Especially as they have promoted it so heavily.

The caveat is that production will get several months of build experience and hopefully work out most of the bugs before they start building Dark Horse orders.

Keeping fingers crossed for good news soon!!
