1967 GT Fastback 390, Still have her
Oh man what a car to have, welcome to the forum @P.Walker! Do you have any photos of your GT Fastback? Are you going to be getting a new Mustang as well?

Thanks, Yes, I ordered my wife a 2024 GT convertible. I posted a pic, it's the black with Red GT stripes

Welcome to the forum. Seeing that you owned some fox body Mustangs, what do you think about the S650's fox body inspired instrument cluster? Were any of yours in the two tone color scheme? Would love to see pics!

Well, don't have pictures, but my 1985 was gray with a flat black hood, and it was T-top.

Question? Why the Darkhorse? Just because it’s rare? It’s definitely not worth the $66K as far as performance. I just preordered a GT, and been in talks with Whipple. I’m going to end up paying close to $70K for a 900+HP Monster. I was initially going to get the DH also, but after reevaluating everything, that extra 20 HP was definitely not worth an extra $20K. I hope you love it though.

You do make a valid point, but I wanted the name, being it is the first of its kind. I can add a Whipple and make mine a screamer too, if I want. But it does initially cost more.
There’s actually plenty of reasons someone would purchase a DH over a GT. I too drive a supercharged GT but horsepower isn’t everything. Given the choice (price notwithstanding), I’d pick the DH without question. For overall performance, it a better car, in every way (IMHO). Below is a comparison explaining the features. Start reading from the top of the page.

However, we’re all free to buy what we want. I won’t be buying either for quite some time, but I’ll be looking for a DH when the time comes.

Welcome to the forum. Which generation was your favorite? Do you think the S650 is a good successor or did Ford miss some things?
I’ve owned a 1976 Mustang II and still own a 1986 SVO.
