Good catch! I don't know that I ever thought to worry that the manual would disappear, but I have wondered if 6-speed boxes would continue to be replaced by awkward 7-speed boxes like in the 911 and C7, so this is good news.

A 7-speed would be good for 70mph+ cruising on the highway and probably help improve MPGs, so there's that reason to do it.
