I really hope Ford gives an AWD version of the Mustang with a V8, the performance numbers it could achieve would be scary. It would also be fitting since Ford flirted with the idea of making the Mustang AWD in 1965.

On a serious note, rumors also suggested hybrid power is coming. Ford even filed a patent for a "twin-motor drive system for hybrid vehicle" showing a V8 engine. So there could also be more to this AWD setup than it just being AWD, we could be looking at an electrically-powered torque vectoring setup, like the Acura NSX.

Hopefully they are up'ing the ante again with electric front wheel drive with conventional rwd. Mustangs (camaro/challenger) belong at the front of the pack. With factory tesla's running 9sec 1/4 mile it won't be easy. It's crazy how fast cars have gotten.

I didn't even notice that! That makes this even better! .

A hybrid system would be interesting because if the ultimate plan is to turn the Mustang fully electric I wonder if Ford will even bother with it.

It's scary how instant the power is with EVs and hybrids. A friend of mine got to ride in a Porsche Taycan and he said the power was something he'd never experienced before in his life. Apparently it slams you into the back of the seat.

It was such a shame that Ford got rid of the GT350. But Ford seems to have their hands full with electric/hybrid power and this rumoured new 6.8L V8 that's coming out.

I think so too. To me Ford can easily make a better AWD system for the Mustang than the one on the Challenger. I don't know about you but I don't really see a lot of AWD Challengers.

Since the Mustang currently starts at $27,155 I'd have to think an AWD EcoBoost version would be around $30,000?
